Working Group 1: Discourses, dialogue and translation
This Working Group will examine knowledge creation and content, focusing on the production, communication and use of knowledge from a range of Southern sources – project based, activist and intellectual; and supporting processes of autonomous expression.
This focus is founded on concerns that the development sector considers too narrow a range of knowledge and perspectives in its policy and management processes and, in particular, that Southern voices, whilst often selected in specific and limited circumstances, are seldom well integrated in, let alone shape, broader development discourse.
